Maintenance

To reach the best longevity possible, there are a few tips to know about cleaning and caring for the woven pieces.

Carpets

Vacuuming
Always vacuum the carpets sideways. If you vacuum by the long threadse, they might stretch and harm their shape.
This is a good common rule for cleaning any carpet.

Washing
Use professional washing service, or Finnish traditional “matonpesupaikka”. Hang rugs by the length, to avoid stretching or color damage.

Scarfs

Refresh
Before washing, consider if just a little refreshment would do. Wool naturally resists any dirt.
Refresh your wool scarf by first shaking off the dust. Then put it in freezer for a few days. After freezing, you can gently steam or iron the wool (2 dots and steam). The wool fibers love to be frozen and ironed once in a while.

This treatment is a perfect way to care for your wool product for longevity. Repeat this treatment any time your scarf looks untidy or louzy.

Wash
If you wash your scarf, use a detergent suitable for wool and a temperature of 30°C. Use a wool washing programme or a gentle hand wash in plenty of water.

Do not scrub or twist.

Dry horizontally and iron gently, with two dots and steam.
